The Saturday Run

We host social runs every Saturday in Downtown Fredericksburg. Runs start at the corner of William Street and Princess Anne Street, diagonally across the intersection from Hyperion Espresso. DO NOT MEET AT HYPERION!

The standard course is 6 miles, but some folks run a 3 mile route and others do their own thing completely. While we don’t run the route as a single group–because there are so many paces and distances–we almost always have enough people in attendance to buddy up new folks with someone looking to do a similar pace and distance. We REALLY can accommodate almost any pace or distance–so please don’t hesitate to come out, even if you are fairly new to running!

Be there 10 minutes early for announcements and for our weekly group photo.

We start on the hour: Labor Day starts our 8am season; Memorial Day starts our 7am season.

Afterwards many of us hang around for coffee and chat.

The Friday No-Drop Run

Friday No-Drop Runs are excellent for beginner runners, more experienced runners just trying to get some easy miles/time on feet, and camaraderie! We meet at 6 AM every Friday at the corner of William Street and Princess Anne Street, diagonally across the intersection from Hyperion Espresso. By “no-drop” we mean we assume whatever pace necessary to keep the whole group together. It is truly a group run. It is a particularly great opportunity for folks who may typically find social/group runs intimidating–it is friendly, fun, and meant to make everyone feel like they belong. We usually start with a 3-mile run; but if someone wants to do less we can accommodate. If people want to run more after the first 3 miles, we always can make that work too! After the run, we go to Hyperion for coffee, crosswords, and chatting. (I know a number of folks who say this is their favorite run of the week . . . I know it’s mine.)
